I have lower back pain radiating to scapula. What is the cause of this?

I am a 20 year old male. I have had back pain in my lumbar region for 3 months now. I had a MRI done and it said I had 2 disc protrusions in S4-S5 and S5-L1 along with bilateral foramen narrowing and loss of normal lumbar lordosis. I went to the orthopedic doctor's and they told me to take rest for 3 weeks, and I did. The pain still hasn't reduced. I went to the doctor again on monday after my 3 weeks of rest and he said that I was fine but the pain is still there. He told me to not sit down for 2 weeks and avoid long journeys, but the problem is when I stand the pain intensifies and radiates into my scapula's and sometimes my chest feels tight making it difficult to breath. When I told the orthopaedic doctor about this, he said that I have some psychological problem, and my pain is psychogenic in nature. I doubt this is true because psychogenic pain only intensifies when you are in situation where you are not comfortable my pain is constant and pain medications are not helping. I can't sleep, or attend classes because of this pain and I am so scared of what is going on with me. Please Help and God Bless.
