Where can I find most current, most accurate breast cancer treatment recommendations?
I am simply overwhelmed trying to decide who to listen to regarding treatment recommendations for lobular cell carcinoma in situ. I hear different things from various people involved in the hospital breast care center. Also, would anyone out there be OK with a Resident Physician doing their surgery for LCIS? I'm still not clear what it is they want to do. Sounds like a lumpectomy but who knows and I wonder why the Resident would be doing it and not a fully trained surgeon (could be a lost my health insurance in the midst of all this mess). Why are some doctors saying bilateral mastectomy if the lumpectomy is OK? Bilateral mastectomy if I DON'T have cancer? What are they going to do if I DO have cancer?
